Cosmetics Business Hair Industry Report

In November, the UK based magazine “Cosmetic Business” released a Trend Report on the latest happenings in the hair growth industry. The November Trend Report features commentary from several hair transplant surgeons and also from yours truly, FollicleThought.com.

On The Horizon

Within the article, hair transplant surgeon Dr. Robert Jones endorses HairClone on being at the forefront of the cellular hair cloning field and he also lists several topical hair growth treatments being trialed currently. Another hair surgeon, Dr. Alan Bauman, talks about upcoming innovation and is quoted to say “It is the dawn of a new age of hair loss treatments, and that includes commercial products and salon services.” It is good to see such sentiments being echoed throughout different sectors of the industry.

I was asked to mention a few companies who are working on stem cell based hair cosmetics (there may be a surprise name or two in there). I also share three promising hair growth technologies with Cosmetics Business for the article: Histogen, HairCell, and RiverTown Therapeutics. Probably no big surprises there.

The Cosmetics Business Trend Report is typically behind a paywall, however the editor has been kind enough to share the hair loss section PDF here with the readers of Follicle Thought. To read the report please click the image below:

Great work admin. I noticed you didn’t mention them. What is your honest assessment of the company, I’ve seen on some hairloss forums that their treatment is available now, but the price is astronomical?
With economy of scale the price will go down, but do you really think that treatment is applicable now? Even Tsuji is at least two years from the market. Thanks

I’m not sure if the treatment is fully available now. I’ll keep observing the company over the next several months and see how things are developing and will follow up with the audience as soon as possible.

Eden, I am so sorry for your loss. I agree that hair loss is too often underrated in terms of the immense distress it can cause. I am a middle aged man that little people will have sympathy with as it is so common at my age. But I have a head which is oddly shaped, and the hair loss is now so severe that I cannot sleep at night with worry and it has taken away my quality of life. I confess that I have thought about suicide, though I have decided that a life with a hair system or under hats has to be better than that. The point is that if I as a middle aged man can suffer this level of stress over hair loss then I can only imagine what your sister went through. I can only agree that we need a comprehensive cure to this disease for everyone. Seems odd that man walked on the moon some 40 years ago, and yet we still cannot prevent and reverse this all too common fact of everyday life.
