HairClone September 2018 Newsletter

British hair-cell cloning company HairClone has released its latest newsletter on September 10th. This is the second newsletter of the year from HairClone, the company previously published a newsletter in February.

HairClone typically divides its news updates into two categories, business and science. It’s interesting to follow HairClone’s progress in these regards and see how both aspects of the company are progressing.

Here are a few of the most interesting updates from HairClone’s newsletter:

Latest Business News

  • Hairclone has chosen Capital Cell to be its crowdfunding platform. Capital Cell is Europe’s first crowdfunding platform to specialize exclusively in life sciences. The HairClone equity crowdfunding campaign will launch in Autumn when investors return from their summer holidays.
  • Dr. Jeff Teumer has joined the HairClone Scientific Advisory Board.  Dr. Teumer previously worked with Dr. Paul Kemp at Intercytex (the first company to ever work on hair cell cloning) where he lead hair research and more recently he was on the Scientific Advisory Board at Aderans Research Institute (another hair cell cloning company).
  • Paul Kemp of HairClone gave a presentation at the first British Association of Hair Restoration Surgery Conference back in April. An overview of Paul’s speech was shared in an “Aesthetic Medicine” article. It’s an interesting read that provides insight into the evolution of hair cloning techniques over the past decade. The progress is enlightening.

Latest Science News

  • The HairClone team has begun studies on expanding (cloning) hair follicle cells. They are also currently researching culture medias, deciding which media encourages the cells to multiply the best. Once a protocol is identified, this ‘cell expansion’ service will be available to HairClone’s clinical partners for use in the UK for patients that the partners feel would benefit.
  • Summik Limbu, a student research partner of HairClone, is currently studying the transcriptome of balding and non balding follicle cells. This will be useful to HairClone as it develops its cloned hair cell protocol. She’s also apparently a natural at dissecting hair follicles and can fully dissect a follicle in around 2 minutes which is fastest HairClone has seen.

Follicle Thought will be sharing updates on HairClone’s impending crowdfunding campaign as well as other pertinent information from the company in the near future, stay tuned.

Could we get into the crowd funding? Do you think this research is promising?
Thank you for all of the wonderful updates 🙂

    • Follicle Thought on September 10, 2018 at 4:33 pm

Hi Threasa, yes the purpose of the crowdfunding campaign is that the public will be able to invest in HairClone which will support their development.

Thanks for reading and for the question.

Do you have any opinions on the company?
Do you think hair cloning will be a success eventually? If so how long until it is available for people like me 🙂

If the company could clone and bring to public that would be an amazing investment.

        Thank you again

I’d have to mention that opinions are not worth as much as data. However, I personally like HairClone very much. They have a robust scientific board and have history in the hair cloning game. The “how long?” question is difficult to answer. It could be 6-8 months, it could be 2 years.

I just looked up HairClone and do not see them as a publicly traded company?
2 years and they ay be able to clone hair? That would be answered prayer for everyone in my family :). We all have baby fine hair and are not good candidates for hair transplants.
Thank you for all of your wonderful work!!!
I wil have to look into the hair lotion. I am a women who told chemotherapy for breast cancer and my hair did not grow back well. Thank God I am not bald but my hair is so thin I can to wear it down. Hair is a beautiful thing :).

            • Follicle Thought on September 11, 2018 at 1:06 pm

Yes and please realize HairClone is cloning the follicle cells and then re-injecting those cells. They are not cloning full follicles yet. They hope to someday strengthen existing hair and also grow new hairs with it.

    Trinov Product Release in October?
one of the Italian hair loss forum members posted groundbreaking new information about the Brotzu lotion: it will be named Trinov. The forums moderators have nicely summarized this information.
The original patent for Trinov was filed by Fidia Farmaceutici (Italy) on June 11th 2018. It looks like a patent for rights to both the name “Trinov”, and the appearance of the Trinov logo. Another related patent was filed on July 30th 2018.

In the year 2018, the administrator many treatments. But seemingly only Brotzu and Replicel çıkartacaklarını. This is for those of us who now began to despair. No longer is our faith. It’s always the same pretexts they’ve been putting off. These issues, you’re the best among us. Please tell us honestly. Baldness will end in 1 year?
    I hope you understand me…

    Hi
Here in hair clone 2 subjects are following:

1-Something like Replicel and tsuji by getting hair follicle and multiplexing then injecting tow scalp
2-is multiplexing hair completely in culture media they say Neogenisis

    There is also some questions?
1-it seems the first method is only for amplifying Miniaturized follicles but in Replicel’s Movie it says they produce new hair follicle, is it right this method produce new hair follicle?

2-if produce new hair follicle this means in donor area for HT it works am I Right? As you know somebody transplant hair by FIT or FUT Which one is possible for this method?

3-for the second methods perhaps will it be ready until 2020?

4-There is something difference between Tsuji and Replicel, Tsuji Claims that he produced 120 hair Per 1 Square Cm but Replicel Experiments shows 20% Improvement in hair Density only in number of People I want to know is it possible 120 ?

5-if we assume one of the two methods be available sooner, using one of them can be an obstacle for using the other developed methods in future?

Finally I think Neogenisis Method of HairClone will be more Successful Because it is difficult to tell after Injection where the hair follicle produce, on face, forehead, neck, nose,… or with which angel hair will grow that was suitable or not. but we can say also if the first method was successful like Tsuji not the Replicel (it seems it help Miniaturized Follicle not producing new one) it is like natural Godess hair to grow.
I think Neogenesis is more usefull because it can be used arbitrary
anywhere without fear of incorrect angel or wrong place.

    BR

2018 is a good year! New Tests of graft technology, a new drug in the 3rd phase of tests, about 5 in the second phase. Balsam (brotzu) right in the pharmacy. In 5-10 years this problem will disappear 🙂

    • Follicle Thought on September 21, 2018 at 12:55 am

German scientists have concluded that sandalore – a chemical often used in perfumes and soaps – is thought to release a receptor in the outer layer of hair follicles called OR2AT4 and can also slow down the death of hair cells.
