Applied Biology Interview

Minoxidil Boosting Product Update (10/22/20)

As we get into the last few months of 2020, I have an update to share regarding the release of the anticipated minoxidil response-enhancing product from Applied Biology. This update comes from Dr. Andy Goren, founder of Applied Biology. As a quick recap, Applied Biology is developing a product containing a novel molecule (not tretinoin) which increases the levels of sulfotransferase enzymes in hair follicles. The amount of sulfotransferase enzymes in hair follicles determine a person’s response to minoxidil; more sulfotransferase enzymes leads to a greater hair growth response from minoxidil. In May 2020, a peer-reviewed study was published on the molecule. Here’s the latest update on the product:

  • The product is planned to be launched in January 2021.
  • After early indication that the novel molecule would be packaged into a shampoo, it now appears the product will be a topical serum applied by dropper.
  • There is a website being prepared for the new product and I will share it as soon as it goes live.
Original Article

I recently had the opportunity to speak with the President of Applied Biology, Dr. Andy Goren. In our discussion, we went over several of the company’s therapeutic programs which will be presented in this article.

Dr. Goren is both the President and Chief Medical Officer of Applied Biology. He is an esteemed researcher in the hair industry and maintains positions of service at various international universities and hospitals. One of his most noteworthy accomplishments is developing the first genetic test for androgenetic alopecia. Instead of a traditional interview format, I’ve decided to share Dr. Goren’s commentary in sections dedicated to several of the company’s top products.

Minoxidil Enhancing Shampoo

Applied Biology’s current lead product candidate, AB-103, is described as a “Topical Minoxidil Adjuvant Therapy” on the company’s website. Dr. Goren gave me an interesting lesson on minoxidil while discussing this treatment. It turns out, the drug minoxidil alone is not effective at growing hair. In order for minoxidil to induce hair growth it needs to be metabolized to its active form ‘minoxidil sulfate’ by sulfotransferase enzymes located in the outer root sheath of the hair follicle. Dr. Goren has previously published a scientific article on this mechanism. One of the known shortcomings of minoxidil is its fairly low response rate in patients, particularly female androgenetic alopecia patients. A lack of response can be due to a number of reasons, however, one factor which virtually guarantees minoxidil will not work for a person is having a low amount of sulfotransferase enzymes in their hair follicles. Therefore, finding a way to upregulate sulfotransferase enzymes in hair follicles would be an ideal way of improving minoxidil response in patients and Dr. Goren and his team have identified a molecule which does just that.

This treatment will be developed as a shampoo which is a convenient option for its users. Rather than having to apply an additional topical serum along with minoxidil, a person can receive the benefit of the molecule while shampooing. Knowing that many of you would have the same question, I was inclined to ask Dr. Goren if this product could also improve the results of people who are already minoxidil responders. He believes that, yes, this will be the case and that this product could increase hair count and speed of response from minoxidil, although a full study has not been conducted yet. The idea of improving the benefits of minoxdil + microneedling with this adjunct is also appealing.
The product is planned to be released next year in 2020.

DHT-Eating Bacteria

This therapy is listed as AB-101 in the company’s pipeline. During our conversation, I could tell Dr. Goren was very excited about the potential of this treatment and he listed it as one of his favorites. It’s well known that DHT is the androgen hormone which causes the shrinking of hair follicles in pattern hair loss. However, popular anti-androgen drugs which are currently available block the production of DHT throughout the entire body which overall is not an optimal approach for treating the scalp only.

In an effort to modernize anti-DHT therapy, Dr. Goren and his team have identified a particular strain of bacteria which is able to “eat” or metabolize DHT. This microbial treatment would be applied topically and Dr. Goren believes it could be an ideal replacement for finasteride, or other anti-DHT agents, with no systemic side effects.

The Applied Biology team has established a proof of concept on this work in the laboratory and is hoping to show its efficacy in humans next year.

Autologous Stem Cell Injection Kit

Applied Biology’s stem cell injection kit is very similar to the Regenera Activa procedure which was featured in a recent Follicle Thought article. In this procedure a tissue sample is taken from the donor area of the scalp and processed through a machine which creates a stem cell serum from the tissue. Dr. Goren tells me that stem cells from the hair follicle bulge, dermal papilla, and fat tissue are utilized in this treatment. The extracted serum is then injected into the compromised area of the scalp to repopulate stem cell pools and revitalize hair follicles.

Dr. Goren says the cost of Applied Biology’s kit is much lower than the Regenera system, and thus, could make the procedure more cost effective to consumers. I’m told Applied Biology’s kit has recently begun testing in Asia and I should be receiving some before and after images of the first patients soon.

Chemotherapy-Induced-Alopecia Prophylactic Topical

AB-102 is a treatment which could offer an alternative to scalp cooling devices for patients undergoing chemotherapy. The status-quo scalp cooling devices restrict the ability of chemotherapy agents to reach hair follicles by decreasing blood flow and cellular metabolism in and around the scalp. This, in turn, prevents chemotherapy drugs from destroying hair follicles. I was surprised to learn that these cooling devices are not well tolerated by some patients simply because the devices are very cold on the scalp and need to be applied for around two hours to be effective.

With an interest to improve treatment options for patients undergoing chemotherapy, the team at Applied Biology have come up with the idea to mimic the effect of the cooling device through a chemical entity. Thus, Applied Biology’s therapy AB-102 will be a small molecule topical which causes reduced cell metabolism and vasoconstriction locally without the need for an external device which can be burdensome for its users.

Other therapies in Applied Biology’s pipeline include a topical treatment which reduces excessive shedding and traction alopecia, and a kit which reduces shock loss from hair transplant surgery.

I’m interested to know people’s thoughts about this lineup, especially the minoxidil shampoo. I know a high number of people who visit the site are currently minoxidil users.

All I can say is “WOW”!! Hope this works!!

      • Follicle Thought on November 3, 2019 at 12:49 am

        Thanks Liz 🙂

      • 2020man on February 20, 2020 at 7:21 pm

        so where is the shampoo??

        • Follicle Thought on February 20, 2020 at 9:12 pm

Possibly out in 3/4th quarter. Perhaps around Oct/Nov.

    • Devit on November 9, 2019 at 11:14 am

My doctor has refused to prescribe minoxidil saying it’s too early to start for 16 year old. Thinking that will all the new treatments would have age restrictions?
All new research exists me, unfortunately none of the promising one in market.

      • Devit on November 10, 2019 at 1:35 am

Sorry to post it at wrong place

      • Follicle Thought on November 10, 2019 at 11:59 am

Devit, I think most of the newer treatments would not have age restrictions because they are not based on sex hormones like finasteride, or blood pressure medication such as minoxidil. That said, I believe some doctors would probably allow a 16 yr old to use minoxidil anyways, but being cautious is probably a good idea from your doctor.

    • Claudio on July 6, 2021 at 12:05 pm

Can this actually help to regrow least hair on men or will it only work for men with receding hairlines?

  2. Rich on November 3, 2019 at 12:05 am

Interesting, thanks. I would be interested in trying the shampoo as I have been using minoxidil for about 6 months now with good results. Any improvement on it would be sweet as I do not use fina.

  3. Chris on November 3, 2019 at 1:00 am

The bacteria that eats dht sounds amazing, I just hope this comes out soon enough to save me. I’m still holding onto a decent crown but need something asap. Is there a timeline on that one?

  4. Alex on November 3, 2019 at 1:24 am

I wonder if the shampoo is the mixture of minoxidil and the sulfotransferase enzymes or just the sulfotransferase enzymes itself which means that minoxidil requires extra application

    • Follicle Thought on November 3, 2019 at 9:36 am

Alex, the shampoo contains a molecule which stimulates an increase of sulfotransferase enzymes, it does not contain the SE enzymes themselves or minoxidil. Users would apply minoxidil after shampooing per usual.

  5. Ky on November 3, 2019 at 1:27 am

I appreciate the info here as it’s needed at this time. I will look forward to the minoxidil shampoo and give it a shot when it comes out. Anything that helps until more treatments come is worthwhile imo.

  6. George Abitbol on November 3, 2019 at 4:21 am

Hi Joseph, we need more info on this stemcell injection. When? Where? How much? Thanks for those positive news.

    • Follicle Thought on November 3, 2019 at 1:38 pm

Hi George, I believe the injection kit will be rolled out in the US in 2020. It’s currently launching in Asia at this time. I am not certain of the price but should be lower than Regenica as stated. When there are physicians in the US offering the treatment Dr. Goren will gladly share their locations and prices, etc. Thanks for the appreciation.

  7. Dee on November 3, 2019 at 5:28 am

as with any shampoo it is only on the scalp for a short period before it is rinsed off like caffiene shampoo etc so would it even have time to penetrate to where its needed more news of HOPE at the minute

    • Follicle Thought on November 3, 2019 at 10:07 am

Dee, this is a good question. One thing I can say is the company still has the opportunity to put the ingredient into any form they choose (shampoo, serum, etc) so one would think they will decide on a method that is useful. I’m not sure if there is a consensus on how long a treatment needs to be applied to grow hair compared to stimulating an enzyme response. We know hair growth usually needs an application of at least an hour, although some shampoos like you mentioned caffeine do show a mild effect with the limited time they are on the scalp, not sure if it’s the same for sulfotransferase enzymes.

    • Armando on November 3, 2019 at 3:07 pm

      Good point

  8. Anonymyti on November 3, 2019 at 9:34 am

hello admin, i love your articles a lot and i’ve been reading them all. However, i’d like to ask whether or not if the DHT eating bacteria will come out soon or it will take also years to be released? Also, i’ve been a good responder to minoxidil since i only used 2% dosage but i stopped it due to sides( namely facial hair and dark circles and wrickles ). So, do you think that way-316606 will be released quite soon so that i would use the anti DHT and way ti regrow my hair ? Do you really think we will see them in market soon or i just go and shave it ? thank you in advance.

    • Follicle Thought on November 3, 2019 at 11:12 am

Anon, it will be a few years for the new DHT therapy but could be well worth the wait. The way-311606 could actually be one of the quickest to market products that we know of. I’m expecting to hear from Giuliani pharma within the next two months and hopefully will be sharing the results from their trial here. If it can beat or equal minoxidil it will be a big development for many people like yourself, I wouldn’t shave it just yet. Plus, Follica and J Hewitt coming around the corner. Stay hopeful.

      • Soul on November 3, 2019 at 3:25 pm

        Hello Admin.

J.Hewitt & TissUse exactly what will you do? is it more like “Tsuji” or as “Replicel” will only recover a percentage of the miniatuized hair?

        Thanks!!

        • Follicle Thought on November 3, 2019 at 7:30 pm

Soul, TissUse believes that their technology has the potential to stimulate de novo hair growth and thicken existing hair. It’s definitely more similar to Tsuji than Replicel, but perhaps it could be described as a sort of combination of those two. It’s also worth pointing out, SHT could turn out to be more efficacious than Tsuji’s method. They seem to be winning the race to clinical trials unless we hear an announcement from Organ Technologies within the next 2 months or so. SHT seems to be a step above the cell therapies that have been trialed previously, very appealing therapy.

          • JKMS on November 3, 2019 at 7:35 pm

So they do not actually clone hair?

            • Follicle Thought on November 3, 2019 at 8:16 pm

JKMS, you mean TissUse? I don’t know exactly what you mean by saying clone hair, you mean they don’t actually clone hair follicles?

          • JKMS on November 3, 2019 at 11:27 pm

Yes. My question is, so Tissuse doesnt actually clone hair follicles but only stimulate growth?

    • Yoda on November 3, 2019 at 4:13 pm

Dark circles and wrinkles from topical minoxidil…really? I’ve been on topical minoxidil since the mid 80, mostly high strength 15% since the mid 90’s. I’ll be 57 in December, have exceptional skin. Do you smoke? How’s your diet? I’ve not read any legitimate studies that prove topical minoxidil ages one’s skin. Maybe I should so I can obtain these “side effects”. 🙂

      • Stephen on November 3, 2019 at 4:19 pm

It’s real or happens to me. It lowers collagen production in the skin.

  9. Stephen on November 3, 2019 at 11:16 am

DHT lowers sulfotransferase enzymes in the scalp which makes minoxidil less effective. Interesting post!

  10. KD on November 3, 2019 at 4:06 pm

I will give this booster shampoo a go when it comes out, could not hurt and if it can improve minox results it’d be a keeper for me. Would consider the stem cell injections if for the right price and could find a local doc here in US.

  11. Yoda on November 3, 2019 at 4:08 pm

Yoda is probably one of the oldest, long term (successful) users of Minoxidil, since the mid 80’s, off label at 1st. I can tell you first hand that it’s dose dependent and looses it’s effectiveness over time. My path started with 2% then 5% and 15%, even 30% for a period of time. I started low dose oral 5 mg about 2 months ago, appears I’m responding. For me it was a no brainier as I have borderline elevated BP. I’m skeptical about anything that’s shampoo based but if the science is there and it’s not priced into the stratosphere, of course I’d give it a whirl.

  12. Stephen on November 3, 2019 at 4:11 pm

Do we know what they are using to upregulate sulfotransferase enzymes?

  13. Yoda was bald on November 3, 2019 at 5:07 pm

Great work admin! I think we are in the finishing line… Can you give us some info from hairclone?

    • Follicle Thought on November 3, 2019 at 6:46 pm

I always Yoda Was Bald and Yoda were the same person! hahaha. Thanks for the kind words.

HairClone is working behind the scenes on some funding opportunities, as soon as they raise the funds for the MHRA licensed setup in their lab they can begin offering the treatments. They plan to test the DP cell injections as well DP cells + PRP combos to see what kind of synergy they can get. I would imagine once the license is in place Dr. Bessam would probably be trying a lot of repeat injections etc with patients to show people what they’re capable of. Exciting to think about in my opinion.

  14. Yoda on November 3, 2019 at 6:03 pm

Are there studies that show topical minoxidil lowers collagen production in the skin or is this an assumption? I didn’t even see this listed as a side effect of oral minoxidil.

    • Stephen on November 3, 2019 at 6:22 pm

Yes there are, I tried to post the link to pub med but the site must not accept external links.

  16. Yoda on November 3, 2019 at 8:33 pm

Stephen, one study on rats the other on rabbits or am I missing something?
*Dermal papilla cells of rat vibrissa follicles
    *rabbit subconjunctival fibroblasts (SCFs).
If this is the benchmark then all mice studies that grew hair our problems were solved years ago, guess we just don;t know it! 🙂

    • Stephen on November 3, 2019 at 9:18 pm

1987 this has been know a long time. Add the real world accounts and there is some risk.

      https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/m/pubmed/2826267/

      • Yoda on November 4, 2019 at 1:44 pm

Stephen, again this was done in vitro and proves zilch. The money shot of that “study” is “minoxidil may prove” …see the word MAY. Please elaborate on these “real world accounts”…if you mean random people on the internet that blame Minoxidil for facial aging that’s really a reach. What are their lifestyles? Age that they started treatment and how long? And let’s not forget the one’s who get their kicks out of scaring people. Minoxidil (and Fin) were game changers for me, I started thinning at 17 and by my early 20’s it became traumatic for me. If it wasn’t for these drugs and their extremely limited sides I’d have been horse shoe bald (like my dad) by my late 20’s. At 57 (next month) I still have a decent head of hair. I’ll give you this, I started Minoxidil in my mid 20’s and yes, I have more winkles than when I started…it’s called ageing bro! 🙂

        • Stephen on November 4, 2019 at 2:45 pm

First off i don’t care of uae minoxidil or not. I noticed changes to my skin as did countless other people. I have spoken to a very reputable dr about this issue and he believes it does or can impact collagen production. I got of the medicine and my skin gradually got back to normal. Again I have zero interesr in debating you on the issue, I know what I believe.

  17. Devit Purohit on November 4, 2019 at 12:29 am

Admin, I am following this since long and thanks for providing this update. I would like to know treatments available at age 16 male. Or any future treatment that will help to this age group

    • Follicle Thought on November 4, 2019 at 1:08 pm

Hi Devit, you’d have to ask a dermatologist but I believe minoxidil may be the best current option for a 16 yr old. I don’t believe most doctors would prescribe finasteride to someone at your age. You have a wide range of future treatments coming into your disposal by the time your in college for example, WAY-316606 topical, SM04554, Breezula, Follica, and cell treatments such as SHT by TissUse, and HairClone. The future is bright for you.

      • Greg Kozel on November 4, 2019 at 2:37 pm

I guess the truth is similar for someone who’s eighteen (like me)?

      • JKMS on November 4, 2019 at 6:56 pm

Admin, so does tissues actually clone hair follicles or simply just stimulate existing hairs?

        • Follicle Thought on November 4, 2019 at 7:48 pm

Hi JKMS, sorry for late reply. TissUse has a proprietary system of 3D culturing dermal papilla cells which maintains their abilities to grow hair follicles. They believe that these multiplied inductive dermal papilla cells will stimulate brand new hair growth once injected into the scalp. They also believe these multiplied cells will improve existing hair as well. Very intriguing therapy at the moment which is scheduled for trials very shortly. A major hope/breakthrough that was unexpected.

      • Devit on November 5, 2019 at 2:30 am

Hoping for the best. Thanks Admin

  18. C on November 4, 2019 at 1:11 am

Honestly, most commenting on this Applied Biology article look forward to the DHT-eating solution and the stem cell therapy. The DHT-blocking shampoo sounds like a load of bullocks!

    • Hawk on November 4, 2019 at 11:24 am

I’m curious C, if you were standing in a room with this guy who has worked in hair follicle research for decades and gives presentations to many scientists and doctors, you would tell him his work is a ‘load of bullocks’?

    • Follicle Thought on November 4, 2019 at 1:05 pm

      @ C, it’s actually a sulfotransferase-upregulating shampoo rather than a DHT-blocking shampoo. The related study from 2014 is found here https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/24773771

  19. Anonymyti on November 4, 2019 at 11:02 am

yoda , i can show you the sides i got from topical minoxidil if you want especially the facial hair i talked about.

  20. Yoda on November 4, 2019 at 1:31 pm

Hi Anon, I’m not questioning additional facial/body hair, this is a stated side effect of Minoxidil which I’d actually experienced before getting on finasteride. I’m highly skeptical about wrinkles and dark circles, these are not proven clinical side effects. My feeling is that people tend to blame things on meds that are attributed to other lifestyle factors, or imagine them.

  21. Anonymyti on November 4, 2019 at 3:20 pm

Yoda, just because clinical studies did not show any side effects with regards to wrinkles and dark circles does not necessarily mean Minoxidil would not trigger them no matter what. We have to understand that any medical treatment shall give rise to side effects regardless of its clinical studies. Furthermore, any treatment , i believe in the field of hairloss would always have side effects because no one had ever been able to ditch with the hairloss phenomenon and all that had been made till now as a treatment is based on assumptions from which researchers think that such thing is the reason of hairloss. DHT has been proven far enough to be the reason of hairloss. Yet, it is still skeptical that it is the core reason of hairloss. Yes, it may contribute to the process of loosing hair but i don’t believe it is itself a cause of hairloss. And finally , i still wonder , why the hell only the hairfall occurs at the top of your scalp so long that hair loss is unpredictable yet it only occurs at one location of your body? Why the hell your body keeps growing hair all over it but not on the place where you want it to be. Why do you people nowadays tend to lose more hair than before ? Think about this, this may all be planned and hopefully you don’t get me wrong as we are only discussing overall.

  22. Yoda on November 4, 2019 at 5:28 pm

We can create our own reality but not the facts. Stephen, if you choose to believe that Minoxidil has had a negative impact on your skin so be it. Just don’t present your assumptions as facts, it may dissuade people from trying treatments which could save their hair and change their lives. I know this first hand and as previously stated, I have awesome skin for a 57 year old dude. Healthy lifestyle, eat right, exercise, don’t smoke, sleep well. If you do these basics you’ll have crappy skin on Minoxidil or not.

    • Yoda on November 4, 2019 at 5:31 pm

Don’t do the basics, not do…apparently Minoxidil also affects one’s ability to insert important words! 😉

    • Stephen on November 4, 2019 at 6:39 pm

Did you read the 1987 study? You do realize there are 1000s of real world reports online, literally. There is one reported and documented case that was EXTREME that was published in the medical lit. The subject went back to baseline after a considerable period off minoxidil. I don’t care who uses it or not. As in most drugs the side effects are under reported. Case in point finasteride.

      • Yoda on November 4, 2019 at 7:43 pm

Stephen, I read the synopsis of the study as the link you posted is not to an actual study. I commented above but will copy for you:
Stephen, again this was done in vitro and proves zilch. The money shot of that “study” is “minoxidil may prove” …see the word MAY.
And to my friend the Admin, thank you for allowing me to defend my 35 years of topical Minoxidil experience. I’d reckon I was one of the 1st users in the country, compounded topical 2% solution off label before Upjohn released it as an RX product. And that my boys is a little Minoxidil history lesson for ya’all. 🙂

        • Follicle Thought on November 4, 2019 at 7:50 pm

Yoda, no problem lol! I appreciate the commentary and it also provides substance and useful information for all of the other readers.

Would like to hear more details on your use of oral minox actually. It’s a bit of an obscure topic.

  23. Anonymyti on November 4, 2019 at 5:52 pm

You’ve got me wrong Yoda. We shall end this discussion as i did not mean to discourage people to use certain drugs just because it didn’t work for me. No, that was not the point i was trying to point at. Yes, for sure, Minoxidil does work on most of people suffering from hairloss. But, surely there are those who are out of luck and the drug will not work as they wished to be. As i said i am ready to show what it did to me. Yet, this is not to scare people and you’re right i missed the fact that we’re talking in a public website whereby anyone around the world can see its content. Let’s just hope that way-316606 does work for the non responders of minoxidil. Have a good day

    • Yoda on November 4, 2019 at 7:36 pm

Hi Anon, no problem. I think most of my replies were based on comments from Stephen. As far as minoxidil not working for everyone, we agree, this is documented. My extreme skepticism primarily revolves around people stating as clinically proven fact that minoxidil causes wrinkles and dark circles under the eyes. This is also stated in such a way that anyone who uses minoxidil is certian to suffer these clinically unproven side effects. When opinion is stated as fact, Yoda will always push back hard!

  24. Yoda on November 4, 2019 at 7:31 pm

Yoda’s side effect from Minoxidil must be extreme skepticism! And because I said it it must be true, plus there are 100’s of 1000’s of cases of people who use Minoxidil that are also skeptical! 🙂

  25. Yoda on November 4, 2019 at 8:59 pm

Joseph, you actually read what Yoda writes and remembered I started oral Minoxidil through all my ranting about wrinkles! 🙂 I’ll give a synopsis tomorrow, it’s enough Yoda on soap box for today.

  26. Jonness on November 4, 2019 at 11:31 pm

The DHT eater sounds amazing. I would love the shampoo, but as is typical of almost all shampoo manufacturers, they’ll load the product with perfume. If it’s not unscented, I’d rather go bald than use it.

    • Dante on November 5, 2019 at 4:15 pm

I hope the shampoo is not loaded with unnecessary ingredients as well, but I’m not that strict about perfume. I don’t think it will be strong scented but I’m going to try it anyways.

  27. Alan J on November 5, 2019 at 3:23 am

Minoxidil did nothing for me. I might give it another try if and when this shampoo is available, but will depend on price as am a bit tired of wasting money. Am putting most of my hopes in hair multiplication. I know this is a few years away, and won’t be cheap, but I prepared to pay (within reason) to lift this curse and misery from my life.

    • JKMS on November 5, 2019 at 4:26 am

Tsuji is the way to go. Hoping for any update by end of this year.

TissUse excites me a lot more than Tsuji. I think that’s what we’ve all been waiting for.

        • Follicle Thought on November 5, 2019 at 2:26 pm

I tend to agree with this Soul, I think Tsuji will be great too but there’s something intriguing about SHT which seems like it could work for a broad range of people and stimulate existing hair as well as grow new hairs.

          • Greg on November 5, 2019 at 4:43 pm

I wonder, if TissUse outdates tsuji then why would people even consider the latter treatment? Unless TissUse doesn’t pull through or tsuji is algae superior I guess. Thoughts?

          • JKMS on November 6, 2019 at 9:28 pm

Admin, do you think we will get an update from Tissuse by the end of this year? And possibly see a commercialization next year?

            • Follicle Thought on November 7, 2019 at 11:34 am

JKMS, I do believe there will be an update from TissUse by the end of the year regarding their trial, but we’ll see how it goes. I am not sure about commercialization next year but I think it might be possible. There are at least 2 accelerated regulatory pathways in Japan and it’s not entirely clear how soon a treatment can be offered there following an initial safety trial. I do keep in touch with the company though and will share news as it becomes available.

        • Dee on November 5, 2019 at 2:45 pm

hi Soul what is TissUse i havent heard about it

  28. Dave on November 5, 2019 at 2:33 pm

is there an updated timeline of estimated public launch of treatments? thank you.

    • Follicle Thought on November 6, 2019 at 11:26 am

Dave, I think the shampoo will be out around Summer of next year, the Stem cell injection kit will is out in Asia now and US soon to follow, and the DHT-eating bacteria will most likely be several years. The latter product could be well worth the wait though.

  29. Yoda on November 5, 2019 at 3:09 pm

    Yoda’s oral Minoxidil summary:
1st off, unlike topical minoxidil which is quite benign, people shouldn’t mess around with oral without a doctor’s supervision. Yoda has borderline high blood pressure so there is no issue with my BP dropping too low. I am also taking this under the care of a licensed MD, my dermatologist. Yoda and my derm speak about hair loss treatments both current and upcoming, he’s pretty savvy about hair loss for a doctor. 🙂 There are recent studies about low dose oral minoxidil for hair loss and my doc was actually aware of them. I’m taking 5mg daily, minoxidil when used to treat BP is administered typically in doses of 40mg to 100mg daily.
My path with topical minoxidil started in the mid 80’s at 2%, then 5% and for the sake of simplicity let’s just say I’ve been at 15% since the mid 90’s. Topical minoxidil (oral too I guess) is dose dependent, however it looses it’s effectiveness over time, in my opinion. I wouldn’t discontinue topical as I believe it still has some effect. Also, without an anti-androgen like finasteride it’s peeing in the wind…the DHT will eventually win out over any positive growth effect.
It’s only been about 60 days, I THINK the low dose oral is having a positive effect, my hair seems to be thickening in the frontal third of my scalp, which is my problem area. Also seeing some errant hairs pop up in long gone areas. Guys, 60 days is not enough time to know what the outcome will be, need at least 90 days and more like 6 month to a year. I don’t believe that this will return my juvenile hairline but we”l see where it goes. The positive effects could be my mind playing tricks on me. I also recently started a 10% minoxidil for pm that has Bimatoprost, maybe this is having a thickening effect. Noted side effects: arm and leg hair has gotten a bit longer, my old man ear hair is growing faster (like topical min before fin), possibly some minor water retention and a slight drop in my BP numbers, which is a good thing! Hope this helps, let me know if you have any questions and proceed with caution or not at all.

  30. luan on November 6, 2019 at 12:55 pm

Hi, I have a question. what about the ngf-574h?

    • Follicle Thought on November 6, 2019 at 6:36 pm

Luan, some people are trying the product from the early bird sale that Celino put on. As far as I know the product is sold out until the company launches their new website for international sales. I think within the next 2 months we will know from all of the people who are trying NGF if it seems to be thickening their hair.

  31. Zed on November 6, 2019 at 1:02 pm

Hey Joseph, firstly I really enjoy your articles and you are very helpful. That being said, I wanted to ask if you had already heard about the recent exosomes news. Some doctors are claiming that it is a breakthrough treatment, but I have not seen it covered like it were one. You probably know more about it than me, but isn’t A-Cell basically the same thing? I have read that A-Cell does not give amazing results. Could you please elaborate on this? Many thanks, Zed

    • Follicle Thought on November 6, 2019 at 6:34 pm

Hi Zed, thanks for the kind words.

I’ve been hearing about exosomes a bit and have heard from two readers of this site who have had the treatment done. Greg and RSS. Perhaps they can share more here if they see this, but one of them mentioned he did not see any results from the treatment. Exosome injections seems to be something that can give results in the range of PRP, but potentially a bit more expensive. Of course the cost weighs into the overall value of the therapy. If PRP was $150 a session we’d all probably do it every 3 months, but since it’s not most people don’t get it done routinely. I’ve heard some higher price ranges for exosome treatments than real PRP prices and I haven’t seen any results that would indicate it’s better than PRP at this point but it’s still early. To sum it up, PRP/exosomes typically give a decent minoxidil response in the people who respond to the injections, but the cost factor is risk.

      • Greg on November 7, 2019 at 12:49 am

Admin and others, I haven’t seen results after several months of getting the procedure but I haven’t seen results from minox or topical fin either; my genetics are kind of bad. But if you’ve seen results from fin or minox then I’d say go for it. It’ll either boost your inventory or prolong its life if you’ve seen results from minox or fin. Exosomes are superior to ACell as ACell is just a “bio scaffolding” while exosomes actually rebuild existing hair follicles, similar to DP injections, just minus the DHT suppression. Hope this helps. Also, admin, have we heard from TissUse or tsuji yet or still waiting to hear an update? And does anyone know where I can get my hands on a topical finasteride cream? (I need a higher dosage than the liquid form)

      • Zed on November 7, 2019 at 4:36 am

Thank you a lot for your response. Where I live (Austria) PRP is dirt cheap, but exosomes are not available so I just wanted some general information about them. I am basically a norwood 0.5 ( 19 years old) and am just trying to go back to 0 any recommendations? I appreciate every response. Many thanks in advance

    • C on November 6, 2019 at 8:25 pm

Zed, I am in the same boat as you in regards to exosomes. I learnt of it a few months ago and there is little information of it online since it is relatively new. However, from the little research I did, I hear it surpasses A-Cell PRP. I don’t know whether or not you give a toss, but I did Adipose PRP last year. Lets just say the results were less than stellar for the amount I paid. As far as exosomes, I was told it is the next step in PRP therapy. Moreover, it is derived from umbilical cords (kind of gross…lol). I don’t know about you, but I prefer to pay a reasonable price for breakthroughs (assuming they will be realities) from Tissuse, Replicel, HairClone, etc.

      • Zed on November 7, 2019 at 4:39 am

Hi C, thank you for your response I was intrigued by exosomes apparently giving stellar results thats why I asked. I am sorry you had an unfortunate result and thanka for sharing your experience. Perhaps you could give me some advice on my situation? I am a 19 year old boy with id say a norwood 0.5 maybe 1.
        Thank you in advance

      • Dante on November 7, 2019 at 4:01 pm

C what kind of results did you achieve with adipose PRP? They take fat from stomach? thank you

        • C on November 7, 2019 at 5:39 pm

The results were rubbish. Yes, fat was extracted from my stomach.

      • Greg on November 7, 2019 at 6:27 pm

I’m onboard with you, C. I’ll pay a decent price for a breakthrough treatment because fin and minox haven’t done much for me so I guess I don’t have a choice anymore. Should be getting an updated from TissUse and tsuji and others this December.

  32. Yoda on November 7, 2019 at 8:52 am

I agree with the admin and others on the expectations for exosomes. I have some 1st hand knowledge, but not experience, about this. My feeling is that many doctors aren’t aren’t out and out scamming. However, they suffer from what I call the Rumpelstiltskin effect…turning straw into gold. If there’s any positive benefit on any number of people they may over-hype results.

  33. Anonymyti on November 7, 2019 at 9:32 am

Zed, you are kind of young and still did not reach the danger zone for us to give you a great treatment. If you see some hair miniaturizing that doesn’t mean you are balding. So, to make sure you have Male pattern baldness you should seek for a scalp microscopy. As for now, you should try to stop your hairloss and since you’re at your early stages use Nizoral Shampoo and see whether or not will it stop your hairloss. If it did, you will likely go back to NW0. Stay hopeful.

    • Zed on November 7, 2019 at 4:14 pm

Thanks anon, nobody in my family is bald my dad still has a perfect hairline, but I worry because my temples look thin, I have thick blonde hair. Thank you for your tip will definitely look into it.

When will Stemson be conducting human trials?

    • Follicle Thought on November 7, 2019 at 8:16 pm

Will, Stemson will beginning human trials in a little over a year from now according to their latest comment on the situation.

      • Will on November 7, 2019 at 8:19 pm

That’s great news. Once human trials are started, a launch will soon follow.

        • C on November 7, 2019 at 11:18 pm

Just because Stemson is set to conduct human trials doesn’t mean its product is going to be launched shortly afterwards. After all, human trials doesn’t mean success; trials could flop.

          • Will on November 8, 2019 at 5:46 am

That’s true, but all the preliminary evidence suggestive of success in the trial, right?

          • Jason on November 8, 2019 at 7:02 pm

Im optimistic like you Will it seems either tissuse, stemson, tsuji, or hairclone is going tomake something that is worthwhile within 2 years. All may not succeed but one or 2 will. It’s going to be a grand victory.

  36. Will on November 9, 2019 at 7:45 am

Jason, I’m a realist too. When it’s possible to create an infinite number of follicular units for transplant, it may take awhile to work out the bugs and perfect their technique s. The transition from the “plug” method to FUE is a good example.

  37. Miguel on November 9, 2019 at 2:14 pm

Do you still believe in Follica launch next year?

    • Follicle Thought on November 10, 2019 at 12:00 pm

I still believe there is a good chance for Follica launch at the end of next year, yes. Either way we will be seeing some good results from them in the near future. They are one of the furthest along companies.

      • Miguel on November 10, 2019 at 12:54 pm

I hope so! How long do you think we will have to wait in Europe?

        • Follicle Thought on November 11, 2019 at 12:07 pm

The wait from US to Europe could be another 1.5 – 2 years I would imagine.

          • Devit on November 11, 2019 at 12:20 pm

And any treatment could take more to reach India right? 🙁

          • Soul on November 11, 2019 at 12:38 pm

About Follica I think they should include a system for doing it at home. Having to go to a clinic or center for that is a commercially backward step from my point of view. If it is accompanied by a device I imagine that the wait for arrival in Europe would be less.

      • Will on November 11, 2019 at 7:24 am

Is Follica producing something t o replicate an infinite number of follicles, or are they trying to regenerate existing follicles? I’m not very familiar with the company.

        • Follicle Thought on November 11, 2019 at 6:23 pm

Will, Follica is using wounding + additional compounds to stimulate the growth of some new follicles and the thickening of existing hair. The technique was intended to create large amounts of new hair growth but I don’t think it’s going to be like a hair transplant, it most likely will be similar or better than minoxidil/dermarolling results.

  38. Morpheus on November 11, 2019 at 9:23 pm

    • JKMS on November 11, 2019 at 10:16 pm

      I second this

    • Follicle Thought on November 12, 2019 at 1:23 am

Morpheus I will give this a shot, this company is sometimes quiet because they have a very important treatment in development but if I hear anything back I will comment here and let you know with of course an article to follow.

      • Greg on November 12, 2019 at 4:30 am

@FT Aren’t we supposed to be getting an update from Tsuji this December? And is that update supposed to give us some further info on trials, costs, release date and such?

  39. Will on November 12, 2019 at 2:32 pm

All product models seem promising, but the fact that Stemson’s is now backed by Allergan gives reason to believe they will be most successful.

    • Sully on November 13, 2019 at 1:22 am

It gives them a good edge in financial backing, but all the approaches are probably close to even until the first trial. I kinda prefer an approach that doesn’t use scaffolding, but I don’t mind it either.

      • Will on November 13, 2019 at 1:35 am

I’m just curious when and who will be the first to launch. I’m not sure how long trials last before FDA clearance to market on something this extraordinary.

    • Follicle Thought on November 15, 2019 at 11:51 am

Hakan, I did not hear anything about a Tsuji interview yet. I think perhaps they have been more willing to speak with a Japanese blogger because they are based in Japan. News happens fast sometimes, they could release a major statement any day. The companies are always working behind the scenes when we don’t hear from them.

  46. Janko on October 22, 2020 at 5:19 pm

This sh!t is the thing I see as really positive. The top responders of minoxidil are able to get incredible regrowth. Even 2 norwoods at some cases. IF it really work as proclaimed, that it will make minox reach its full potential? That will be holly grail for times of waiting for better treatment. Shampoo would be better rather than using another dropper, but if it works I am willing to even bath in it.

    • Yoda on October 22, 2020 at 5:35 pm

Thanks for the update Admin. Would you happen to know if the Applied Bio topical is mixed with minox or will this be a topical one needs to apply in addition to minox? If the latter, do they have a protocol yet, e.g before/after, how long in between applications, once, twice, etc. times a day?

      • Follicle Thought on October 22, 2020 at 6:12 pm

Info coming soon Yoda, within about a week.

        • Yoda on October 22, 2020 at 7:22 pm

Thanks admin, there was a time I was applying up to 4 topicals a day (Minox twice, RU and a peptide serum) it was a pain as my boy Mjones is implying. Now I’m back to just minox twice and the peptides for scalp health every other. Adding another topical might be a deal killer for me, not sure how much benefit I’d get since the oral minox I’m on might be redundant.

  47. Mjones on October 22, 2020 at 6:16 pm

Bummed out that its another topical we have to use. Would have been easier as a shampoo. Maybe it’s a 2x a week topical and not daily. Csnt apply all this crap to my scalp morning and night.

    • Follicle Thought on October 22, 2020 at 7:50 pm

      I hear ya Jonesy.

  48. Alan J on October 23, 2020 at 1:40 am

As someone with little hair left on top (and what there is is quite thin) what I’d really appreciate is one shampoo with this product and minoxidil included. Am not sure why this is so hard to achieve. Does anyone know?

  49. Steve on October 23, 2020 at 10:06 am

Been waiting for this one as minoxidil never did a thing for me at all, but others get pretty substantial regrowth on it. all I want to do is maintain what i have!

    • Follicle Thought on October 23, 2020 at 11:41 am

I hope the product works well for you Steve! Fingers crossed, it’s coming soon but we won’t know how good it is until people use it for months.

      • Janko on October 23, 2020 at 7:27 pm

So, they do not plan to release at least some photos ans data from testimonials?

        • Follicle Thought on October 24, 2020 at 1:13 pm

No photos, only a clinical study which I linked in the update.

          • Janko on October 25, 2020 at 1:45 pm

Yeah, well. It has to be paid to even view the study. They don’t have even abstract released. Hope their website will give some info. If they have no data about actually increasing sulfotransferase enzymes on real people not just in a lab, then I pass. No trust in companies releasing something with just claims. On paper or mice works a lot of things. Reality is often disappointing

            • Follicle Thought on October 25, 2020 at 4:48 pm

Fair statement. I know the study showed that the molecule increased sulfo enzymes in some participants but I don’t have access to the study.

    • Nick123 on October 23, 2020 at 11:43 am

I feel you steve, I’ve never been able to maintain no matter what I tried dutasteride, finasteride, minoxidil, microneedling etc.

Minoxidil did absolutely nothing for me (no shed, no sides, nothing but an itchy scalp) and I was really looking forward to this but I’m a bit bummed out to hear this is a serum and not a shampoo because logistically that’s another topical to an already exhausting regimen.

  50. Mjones on October 23, 2020 at 1:48 pm

I hope it will work for us minox users that have been using minox for a long time. It will be 6 years for me. I got some growth with rogaine but very minor. It did reduce my shedding but I am below baseline all over but still not detectable unless under bright lights or wet hair. If this serum can actually kickstart some serious top responder minox regrowth then this will be a game changer for me and many others.

    • MRKA on October 26, 2020 at 5:45 am

Mjones, it certainly is a game changer for many if it turns the average or non responder into a good minox responder.

In addition, it may improve Follica results assuming that they are using minoxidil and not using an additional product that does what AB-103 is hopefully going to achieve.

But is Follica ever going to release…it has been quiet on that frontline for a while.

Fingers crossed that AB-103 does not have to be applied every day.

      • Steve on October 26, 2020 at 8:32 am

Yeah what’s the deal with follica? I thought they were going to start a trial last year even. seems this wont get released until 2022-2023 now. unbelievable that it even has to go through so many trials for what appears to be nothing more than a perfected form of microneedling + off patent over the counter drug

Sorry everyone I don’t know am i right say in this forum ,we have panglossian view on Dr Tsuji and cloning It is very good when this sort of treatment become available until then it’s pure science fiction

    • jan.miedza on October 26, 2020 at 4:52 pm

judging from the last few days, stemson is the only company that can provide hair cloning, Dr. Tsuji is not working for organ technologies and their site has been down for several days, everything is very disturbing

      • Dee on October 26, 2020 at 5:16 pm

I was banking on Dr farjo cloning I was banking on replicel then I was banking on tjusi and trinov and and and and

        • jan.miedza on October 26, 2020 at 5:50 pm

          and you miscalculated Dee

        • Kapil on October 26, 2020 at 6:01 pm

NGF and many more, one day we Will stop talk about it the day we are all cured
We used have one or two companies to follow now many more out there. One day ….

          • jan.miedza on October 26, 2020 at 6:26 pm

Kapil what companies are able to bring a real cure? i mean full head of hair:)

  61. Ralph Wiggum on October 26, 2020 at 7:39 pm

Is there a sense of how much the minoxidil boosting product will cost?

    • Follicle Thought on October 27, 2020 at 9:17 am

I don’t believe so at the moment Ralph.

  62. jan.miedza on October 27, 2020 at 6:37 am

does stemson said Studies start in 3-4 years at the earliest? or product in 3-4 at the earliest?

  63. Kapil on October 27, 2020 at 8:48 am

    @ jan.miedza
We can’t predict anything in this field One day some sort of device or topical will do

  64. jan.miedza on October 27, 2020 at 10:44 am

sad news guys, organ technologies has bankrupt

  65. Paul_ire on October 27, 2020 at 10:51 am

Jan, can you please share where you found this information as a doubt a company which is funded by the government has gone bankrupt.

  66. Woofy97 on October 27, 2020 at 11:36 am

    Follicle thought your thoughts please

    • Follicle Thought on October 27, 2020 at 11:44 am

At first glance, this does not sound like good news. I’m not going to overreact at this point, though. Let’s see what else bubbles up.

  67. Woofy97 on October 27, 2020 at 11:43 am

Doesn’t make sense they are funded by the Japanese government. Tsuji has been doing this for like 10 years and now they go bankrupt when tsuji says like a month ago that human trials will start this year everything look good like 2 months ago.

    • jan.miedza on October 27, 2020 at 11:46 am

“Organ Technologies (Minato-ku, Tokyo), a hair regrowth venture, suspended its business, and the entire amount of 100 million yen invested was recorded as an extraordinary loss as a loss on valuation of investment securities. ”
      terrible news for us

  68. Woofy97 on October 27, 2020 at 12:03 pm

Jan this doesn’t make any sense. He’s been doing this since 2011 and over the years we’ve gotten little positive updates and recently they undated the organ tech website and showed us 3 generations of hair cloning techniques and tsuji said in a zoom just like 2 months ago trials will start this year. This doesn’t make sense until I hear it from the man himself. If this is true this is like a fraud I’ve waited 5 years.

  69. Jake on October 27, 2020 at 12:37 pm

    This page works,

    http://www.organ-technol.co.jp/en/aboutus/

Is this a shock, yeah pretty much. They had a LinkedIn page for the company. Its now gone. I think they went bankrupt.

  70. Jake on October 27, 2020 at 12:50 pm

the technology made sense. and they filed for a pre clinical trial in 2018 on animals. they never really performed a trial on humans. Why they would shut down last minute is beyond me.

    • jan.miedza on October 27, 2020 at 12:55 pm

Jake because maybe the animal test failed? at least the tried, thanks anyway dr Tsuji:)

  71. Soul on October 27, 2020 at 1:13 pm

I think that the company is declared bankrupt because the project was not good. very disappointing and I think TISSUSE the same.

    • jan.miedza on October 27, 2020 at 1:17 pm

I have wrote to tissuse, they didint even find a company for human trials….

      • Soul on October 27, 2020 at 1:28 pm

It’s just my opinion and I hate being negative, but my most realistic feeling is that if TISSUSE were a solid project, you shouldn’t have a problem finding where to test on humans.

        • jan.miedza on October 27, 2020 at 1:30 pm

maybe stemson only left for us? but they will start human trials in 3-4 at the earliest, it is a long road and everything can happn

          • Soul on October 27, 2020 at 1:36 pm

I honestly have no hope of cloning. I hope something like “Hairclone”, I think they can restore miniaturized hair.

  72. LouiSarkozy on October 27, 2020 at 1:20 pm

damn feelsbad i think i’ll die bald then…

  73. Toowiseforhair on October 27, 2020 at 1:31 pm

Hope they atleast reveal what went wrong. No need to hype tissuse, retarded company and tsuji was miles ahead with published research.

    • Yoda on October 27, 2020 at 5:37 pm

This is why Yoda takes a guarded approach to these next gen, revolutionary treatments and cautions others to do the same. Is it surprising? No, not really. I’m not saying I knew what outcome would be or are happy about it. However, treatments like Tsuji are quite a leap and a gamble, like playing craps blind. This is why I get “passionate” about people who get overly hyped about these types of potential, way out treatments before they are actually in clinical trials, count on proposed release dates that they hear, pin all of their hopes on them, put off starting current treatments and hang on statements from unverified sources. Be hopeful but be realistic!

  74. Mjones on October 27, 2020 at 6:41 pm

Well said Yoda. The fact that tsuji supposedly said he would release hair cloning after a year of trials raised my bs detecting meter through the roof. Hair cloning trials will take at least 7 to 10 years. They need to test cycles, growth rates, color length etc. That cant be done in a year. The best way to ti know if a company has a solid treatment yet a cure is they are blasted all over the main street nightly news not on some blog or random website. A viable serious working hair loss treatment that grows thick dense hair has been sought after for thousands of years. If discovered it will be main stream news headliner. So stick to big 3, and pray follica, sm, histogen work to give us maintenance and good regrowth. Hair cloning wont be here until 2030s.

    • jan.miedza on October 27, 2020 at 7:31 pm

Mijones it is very good if the trials take 10 years, i want safe cure not a cancer as a gift with a full head of hair:D i can wait 10 years

  75. Woofy97 on October 27, 2020 at 6:45 pm

this just doesn’t seem real to be honest. Tsuji took like 8 to 9 years to get to this point of … bankruptcy. I’m not buying it until I hear it from tsuji himself you can say that the article is pretty convincing but I would have to hear it from tsuji. With that said I’m shifting over to stemson. Also on tsuji This is what happens when you take to long in pre clinical phase without start human trials you’re burning money. “They didn’t have the technology” they took to long…

  76. Woofy97 on October 27, 2020 at 6:56 pm

Stemson trial (because I might join) and Histogen. I just wanted to see if it actually worked from tsuji was I going to go to Japan and get it done? No. but apparently now he can’t deliver. so those are my two picks above.

    • Yoda on October 27, 2020 at 7:11 pm

Woofy, you should try to get your expectations more in line with reality than what you hope for. Having two “picks” doesn’t make sense. You should have an action plan that is based on what is available NOW and in the next few years hopefully transitioning to a treatment(s) that are in late stage clinical trials on humans. If you continue to pick favorites and hold your hopes out for them you have a greater chance of disappointment. Some tough love from old Yoda!

    • jan.miedza on October 27, 2020 at 7:29 pm

Stemson will start human trials at least in 3-4 years, tissuse i ready for clinical trials now
      “Dear Jan,
Yes, the procedure for hair cloning is established and could be used in clinical trials. As per our previous email we expect these clinical trials to commence as soon as a manufacturing facility has been selected.”

  77. Woofy97 on October 27, 2020 at 7:18 pm

But yoda I’m not trying to argue with you but nothing available today works other then Finasteride, dutasteride, minoxidil and hair Transplant. I can’t get a hair transplant destined for a Norwood 7 and nothing else works. Pre clinical or in clinical trials stuff is my only hope.

    • Yoda on October 27, 2020 at 8:55 pm

Woofy, unless you have a special diagnosis I’m fairly certain if you saw the right doc and or researched beyond off the shelf rogaine and propecia you would respond to a treatment involving currently available meds. I’ve gone over this with you before, you’ll need to take the initiative, Yoda can’t do it for you. You’re a good guy and I know what it feels like to be young and loosing hair, it’s devastating. I took control of the situation be being proactive, researching and sticking with it…you can too!

  78. Shia on October 27, 2020 at 7:36 pm

If it’s real it’s a sad news for us all.
I have a non related question regarding stemson tho, and it has to do with their patent. If the patent only lasts a decade ( as far as I know ) doesn’it mean that their procedure is actually closer to be commercialized than we expect?

    • jan.miedza on October 27, 2020 at 7:41 pm

Shia until there are no successful human tests, we don’t know anything, it takes at least 5 years to see how this cloned hair behaves

    • jan.miedza on October 28, 2020 at 12:47 pm

Shia Are you waiting for the Tsuji operation to openly announce that they failed?

The concrete evidence is this: They reached the same failure point of every other competitor and stopped moving. The head researcher has left. Trials aren’t proceeding. No other signs of life. The website went down and still isn’t back up.

  79. Twenti on October 27, 2020 at 9:43 pm

The pandemic must’ve dried up funding resources. Plus its hard to carry out research in a lab during these times. There’s still many other companies working on cloning, so I also wouldn’t worry too much about this.

    • jan.miedza on October 28, 2020 at 5:36 am

Twenti what companies? Tsuji was the most advanced

  80. Uil on October 28, 2020 at 11:18 am

As I understand it Ajuban (https://www.adjuvant.co.jp/ir/) is one of the investors in the Organ Technologies project, and they announced to shareholders this loss of 100 million yen due to the bankruptcy of Organ Technologies. Now the thought that remains is about the surprise of this fact. Until two months ago they were giving talks and now they have gone bankrupt. I hope it is a change of company or something.

    • jan.miedza on October 28, 2020 at 12:35 pm

now I will ask a question to those who said that tsuji is not ken washenik? hello Wooofy:P

      • Woofy97 on October 28, 2020 at 12:59 pm

Jan I’ve told you this a million times Ken W was different from Tsuji with his approach when will you learn?

        • jan.miedza on October 28, 2020 at 1:11 pm

but I know it, You don’t see the analogy in the behavior of both men?
Tsuji dragged the healing lie to the end just like ken
what are we left with stemson in 4 years is just starting human trials …..

  81. Andre Lindbæk Mikalsen on October 28, 2020 at 12:21 pm

    This company is AMAZING!

    • jan.miedza on October 28, 2020 at 12:38 pm

      rip organ technologies
many thanks to dr Tsuji, he tried but it doesn’t always turn out the way you want
ok so we are back to 2010

      • Paul_Ire on October 28, 2020 at 12:48 pm

        @Jan,
Can I ask why you seem to be so happy and always commenting negative posts when many poeple on this thread have just learned that it’s highly likely the main prospect we had in hair cloning is after failing? Your calling out woofy, like your after winning which isn’t fair. Well done for finding the article about organ technologies but do you feel like you deserve a medal or something?
My apologies admin, but this negativity from this reader is not needed we are all here for the same reason.

        • jan.miedza on October 28, 2020 at 12:59 pm

Believe me, there is no reason to be happy and I don’t need a medal but more hair on my head

        • Yoda on October 28, 2020 at 7:23 pm

Well said Paul…while Yoda may seem negative about cloning, Tsuji, etc. I’m not and hope this succeeds someday. What I get critical of is guys pinning all their hopes on something that is in the very very very early stages despite what random, unvarified sources say or poor translations. Jan on the other hand seems to be doing a “sack dance” which is just plain odd to me.

          • Paul_ire on October 28, 2020 at 7:41 pm

@Yoda, yes I agree it is in it’s very ealry stages.
I’m only 22 and don’t have enough donor hair for a transplant so I would obviously love if hair cloning came out soon but I am realistic in knowing that HC won’t be possible till the 2030’s maybe. On the plus side, we have several preventative/growth products in clinical trials now which will hopefully be available in the next 2 years which for many, will be enough to get satisfactory results. I’d love a thick NW1 head of hair (why I want hair cloning) but if I can keep what I have now and gain 20/30% density with new drugs then I’ll be happy, I don’t think we will ever get perfection.

  82. MRKA on October 28, 2020 at 1:20 pm

Maybe it would be wise to stick to Applied Biology in this section. Its getting a bit confusing discussing unrelated treatments in the same section.

    • Kapil on October 28, 2020 at 4:59 pm

we can’t celebrate failures and give up
We can focus on Kintor ,Samumend and follica
Kintor trial results should be out soon and better result from Histogen then device from Wisconsin
Mane biotech has dropped wound healing and changed gum regeneration to dental hygiene can’t figure out what they are holding

      • jan.miedza on October 28, 2020 at 5:09 pm

what about tissuse? i emailed them they should start their human trial next year in Japan

      • Yoda on October 28, 2020 at 7:26 pm

Sounds logical to Yoda, Kapil. What I think people should’ve been doing all along with also maximizing current available treatments.

  83. jan.miedza on October 28, 2020 at 5:46 pm

it is very interesting what went wrong with their hair cloning process, any thoughts?

  84. D1 on October 28, 2020 at 5:51 pm

  85. D1 on October 28, 2020 at 5:54 pm

week 18 is 3rd december i think, so after then

    • Follicle Thought on October 28, 2020 at 8:28 pm

Maybe 2 out of 10? Resveratrol has a hair promoting effect, but the product is created for skincare.
